One great weekend last year saw me shooting wedding photography at Court Colman in Bridgend. This time around it was the wedding of Katie and Blethyn, who booked my platinum package as well as my evening coverage.
I shoot wedding photography at Court Colman several times each year, so I know the venue especially well.
With the wedding taking place at the hotel and at a local church, Katie decided to get ready at the family home. This is a great thing to shoot, as it means I can photograph a snapshot into the day from a viewpoint we don’t normally see before the wedding ceremony. As soon as the girls were ready the wedding moved to the chapel in Bridgend. The church was an amazing space with a high vaulted ceiling. I love working in the chapel as the photographer as I can get really close to the action during the ceremony for some amazing pictures.
After the ceremony we moved outside for some group photographs and Bride & Groom portraits. Then it was on to Court Colman.
The wedding party moved inside after the photographs at the reception venue for the wedding breakfast. The meal was served in the ballroom at the hotel, which is a bright, high roofed space. With loads of daylight flooding in, the ballroom area makes photographing the wedding speeches a lot easier and the results looks especially natural.
The final part of the wedding day was the evening reception, where Katie and Blethyn were joined by even more family and friends.
