One September, a few years ago, had me driving down to Rhoose and Court Colman for the beautiful wedding of Hayden and Gemma.

Wedding photographers in Bridgend

Hayden and Gemma had booked their wedding at Court Colman, in Bridgend and South Wales. This is a great venue for me, and always make sure I drive down a few weeks before to do a site visit and plan the wedding photography throughly. The hotel itself is quite large in size, and offers a fantastic venue to hold more intimate weddings. A beautiful set of sweeping stairs provide an excellent backdrop for wedding group photographs, while the steps and the lawn allowed some shade for our bride and groom portraits.

The thing that really struck me about Court Colman, was how amazingly accommodating the management were. It’s a lovely venue at any time of the year.

The day started at St. Curigs Church, in Rhoose/Porthkerry. This delightful small church stands in the small hamlet of Porthkerry, (Porthceri in Welsh) just south of Cardiff International Airport and west of Porthkerry Park on the outskirts of Barry. In front of the church is a small green, surrounded by cottages and a farm, parts of which are itself medieval. The church is dedicated to St Curig, a 6th Century Welsh saint who became Bishop of Llanbadarn.

Everyone enjoyed their day at Hayden and Gemma’s wedding, and in the evening I kept shooting while a band and a DJ ensured the party lasted until the small hours.

A great wedding for Hayden and Gemma, and a happy wedding photographer in Bridgend.
