One February, some years ago, I was lucky enough to be part of the lovely Monica and Noel’s big day. They had their ceremony at the wonderful Vyne, in Basingstoke. The house and grounds are from Tudor times, and provide a wonderful venue for wedding photography. As this is in Basingstoke, it’s a bit of a trek for a Bridgend wedding photographer, but with regular work nationwide, this is a great thing for me! The grounds at the Vyne have an ornamental lake, plenty of places for photography and ancient woodland. There is also a walled garden and a wetland bird hide, to escape into!
The day started with the arrival of the guests and groom to the front of the wonderful old building. A lovely relaxed atmosphere was present and Noel welcomed the guests to their big day. Monica arrived in style, and the ceremony was intimate, heartfelt and warming – even on a chilly February day! The room in which they were wed was wonderfully light and airy, and was easy to photograph. From there, we went outside to photograph the formal imagery using the Vynes spectacular scenery. Once the group shots were done, the guests made their way inside for drinks and nibbles, while the bride, groom, and myself went for a walk to put to good use the backdrops that were presented to us.
Once back inside, we had a few shots on the spectacular stairs, and went to join the guests for the speeches and evening meal. The speeches were very funny, and all of the guests had a great time. The staff at the Vyne were superb on the day, and incredibly helpful. If you want any information on wedding photography, then contact me on 07967 300319, or email me on info@peterbritton.com.
