On an October, several years ago now, I photographed the wedding day of Paul and Rhiannon, in the Atlantic Hotel in Porthcawl. The happy couple decided to celebrate with friends, and they did it with style. The Atlantic is a great place for a wedding party – beautiful scenery just outside the front door, lovely management, a great interior and loads of space. Speeches were given, a band rocked out, drinks flowed and a real party atmosphere surrounded the entire event. As the weather was a little wayward, and as the majority of the ‘do’ was in the evening, we decided to undertake the formal shots in the Atlantic with a studio set up. This always works as a great back-up plan, and the wedding guests always love getting involved and helping out. It creates a real spectacle on the day, and the photographs that results are always special. It was a lovely evening, with a few close friends there too, which made the photography both easy and amusing. A really great day.
