On a beautiful spring day, in early April this year, I was fortunate enough to be part of the wonderful Laura and David’s wedding celebrations. They decided to marry in the lovely seaside town of Porthcawl, using the fabulous Grand Pavilion as their venue for the big day. The wedding started for me with the arrival of the groom to the Grand Pavilion. The weather was great, with a blue sky and pretty white clouds, and a spring warmth in the air. David was relaxed and enjoying welcoming his guests to the main hall, in the Grand Pavilion, where the ceremony was to take place. Having taken a few shots of the layout of the room and guests arriving, I went outside to be greeted by the arrival of Laura, who looked spectacular on her day. She had a friend taking pictures for her as well as myself, and it was a treat to have another great photographer to shoot alongside as we performed some posed shots on Porthcawl‘s promenade.

From there, we went inside for the ceremony, which was heartfelt and lovely. The bride and groom exchanged vows and rings, and congratulations were shouted from the guests as the confetti was thrown. The Grand Pavilion is a superb venue for wedding photography, as it has history and tradition, and the rooms available to David and Laura on their day were beautifully laid out. The staff were incredibly helpful to me, and were a wonderful to work with.

After the ceremony, the bride and groom mingled for a while with their guests, and then we took a stroll up the promenade to perform the formal photographs with the Bristol Channel as our glittering blue backdrop. Everyone enjoyed the formal shots, and once completed, we headed back to the Pavilion for drinks before the wedding breakfast. Speeches and cutting of the cake followed the meal, and from there the party began as first dance led the way on the dancefloor.

Laura and David were brilliant on their day, and I wish them every happiness as their lives roll on together. You can see more imagery here, and also purchase prints from their day as well.
