The wedding of Pippa and Guy was really very special. Held in Aberkenfig, at the wonderful St Johns Church, it was a really sweet and heartfelt day. I began by photographing in the Bridgend area, in the rectory of St Bride Church. For a Bridgend wedding Photographer, this one was nice and close to home. The bride and her bridesmaids made their preparations and from there we all went around to St Johns church for the ceremony, which was lovely. Once the bride and groom had said ‘I do’ to one another, we jumped in the cars and made our way to Caerphilly Castle for the formal portraits and the reception.
Caerphilly castle is a great place to get married, as it provides spectacular grounds, backdrops and opportunities for wedding photography. We arrived there on the day to be welcomed by the lovely staff with drinks and canapés. We got straight on with the formal shots, with the castle in the background. For the group shot, I was able to gain a high perspective of the wedding party by photographing down from the castle wall. The wedding guests all really enjoyed the formal shots, and once complete, we went into the great hall for a banquet. The hall has a medieval feel to it, and is a marvelous place to celebrate a big day. Food was served, drinks were had, and the speeches followed. The speeches were lovely, and form there, the bride and groom relaxed and sat down to enjoy their party, as the evening flowed on into the night.
