The wedding of Mel and Jon was a truly wonderful day. We had gorgeous July weather, fantastic venues and most importantly a fabulous bride and groom! The day started with Jon, who was getting ready at The Great House, in Laleston, Bridgend. The room that Jon was getting ready in was light and bright, and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the air as Jon made his preparations for his exciting day. After I had photographed Jon, I went for a look around the room in which the marriage ceremony was to take place, and it was stunning. The Great House really do know how to make a wedding special. Jon welcomed guests, and a few minutes before the ceremony, Mel arrived, looking absolutely stunning.
The ceremony itself was lovely and really sweet, and after the marriage had taken place we all went outside for the formal shots. Again, the Great House was excellent for this as the gardens provide a wonderful backdrop and the wall out the front is superb as a textured background. The formal shots were completed nice and easily, and then I was back into some candid photography of the wonderful guests enjoying themselves. The day progressed and the guests went in for the meal. The room looked great, and the food was excellent. The speeches were given after the meal, and they were heartfelt, funny and poignant. After that, the evening guests started to arrive and we were into first dance. Mel and Jon were fab on their day – it was a real pleasure to be part of their wedding.
