The wedding of Kate and Cai back in April ’16 was the perfect way to start wedding photography season for Peter Britton Photography. The day was glorious; a true spring day, with plenty of sunshine and beautiful light all day. I started the wedding photography with Kate’s preparations in Rosedew farms. Rosedew Farm near Llantwit Major in South Wales is a great wedding venue. It has fabulous cottages for the bride and groom to stay in and prepare for their day, and the great barn is a spacious and bright; perfect for wedding photography and the wedding ceremony. The lovely thing about the venue is that everything is contained in one location, and there are some beautiful areas for the formal shots.

Once Kate was ready, she made her way from the cottage into the great barn. The dress was spectacular and the ceremony was sweet and heartfelt. The day was full of lovely little touches, like the cakes and the confetti, and after the ceremony the confetti was thrown and we did the formal shots. The majority of a wedding day is based on candid photography, but the formal shots are an important part of anyones special day. Rosedew was great for this, with ideal backdrops.

After the formal shots, the bride and groom mingled with their guests. The atmosphere was great, with smiles and happy faces everywhere I pointed the camera. Kate and Cai made the day really easy, as they both looked fabulous and provided me with some great candid/documentary moments. After congratulations for the guests, Kate, Cai and myself went for a stroll and did some bride and groom images, and then the guests started to flood the hall for the wedding breakfast. The day was amazing; full of laughter and happiness from the first image to the last.
