Midway through June I photographed the amazing day of Steve and Kate. The day started early, with a drive from Porthcawl in Bridgend across the width of the country to Southend on Sea. The wedding was held at The Lawn, and I was stunned when I arrived. It was a beautiful venue; a fabulous manor house set in gorgeous grounds. The staff were incredibly helpful, as it was a venue I had not photographed before.
I found Kate upstairs with her family as she made her preparations for the day ahead. She looked amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. As she got ready I strolled around the grounds and house capturing all the important detail shots, and occasionally photographing preparations as Kate had her hair and make up done. Steve arrived, with the other men of the day, and began welcoming guests as they arrived.
When all was ready, Kate made her way down the stairs with her fabulous dad and the ceremony was held. Steve and Kate’s daughter, Charlotte, was brilliant on the day too and added some perfect charm to the day. She was a super-cutie. The ceremony was lovely, and really heartfelt and warming. After that, guests mingled around the house and grounds, the bride and groom and I went for a stroll to capture some couple shots and the formal images were done on the lawns. It was gorgeous.
As the day rolled on, everyone eventually hit the dance floor and a real party atmosphere ensued. There were some amazing people there on the day, and Kate and Steve were great. It was a true pleasure to be part of this one.
