South Wales Wedding Photographer
David and Nadia.
Legends; that’s what they are.
The are also fab friends of mine and it was an absolute treat to photograph for them on their amazing day. And a truly amazing day it was, the likes of which I had not seen before, and that’s saying something considering how many weddings I’ve shot. Their day can be summed up in a single word:
Fun.
And that is exactly all a wedding should be. Close friends and family, great food, drinks, dancing, laughter and music. It was a beautiful day. My day started at Dave and Nadias house, where the girls were making their preparations. Make up was in full flow and the atmosphere was full of expectation for what was to come. Nadia looked spectacular. A few doors down, in his lovely mums house, Dave was also getting ready with his ushers and best man. Again, it was a very relaxed atmosphere and everyone was in super spirits. From there, I headed to the church.
Ewenny Priory is a beautiful place to get married, and the church was a monastery of the Benedictine order, founded in the 12th century. It’s a magnificent structure, and the grounds (where the reception was to be held ) are perfect for a wedding day. It was fabulous, and as I arrived I didn’t actually take any pictures for a good ten minutes as there were so many friends to say hi to. Nadia arrived, and walked the aisle to where her fabulous man stood waiting. The ceremony was heartfelt, relaxed and funny. After that we walked in procession into the grounds and around to the marquee. There were amazing details scattered around, including an enormous sign announcing ‘lockfest’ – a clue for the evening festivities to come. We mingled, took some gorgeous formal shots and then we sat for the meal and speeches. The speeches were fantastic (some of the best I’ve heard), and after that we went to the dovecot with several friends to shoot a couple more formal shots. We needed more light, so I got everyone to illuminate the bride and groom with their iPhone torches.
The day became night and the wedding turned into a mini music festival, fronted by virtuoso groom, David Lock. Headliners, Jasper, ripped the lid off of it.
Congrats to the amazing bride and groom – you’re awesome, and the imagery really reflects you both so well. You can see ALL the photography (including all the formal/couple shots) from the wedding day HERE, and you can also purchase prints via this link.
