The wedding day of Kate and Jamie was truly excellent. It was a gorgeous day full of fun, laughter and all of those fine details that make a wedding day sing. They got married at Canada lodge and lake; a wonderful South Wales Wedding location, and one of my favourites as a photographer. My day started with Kate as she made her preparations for her wedding day. She was getting ready with her closest girls in one of the lodges, set slightly apart from the wedding venue itself. The day was a little drizzly but that by no means dampened spirits. Kate looked amazing as her make up and hair were completed and the dress went on.
From there I made my way up to the Oakroom where the ceremony was to take place. Jamie and his boys arrived, and there was a great atmosphere – the sort of atmosphere that you get when best friends gather. And that was the feeling throughout the entire day. It was fabulous. Kate made her way to the Oakroom, and walked up the aisle where she met her husband to be. The ceremony was sweet and heartfelt and Kate and Jamie were wed.
After the ceremony we photographed the formal shots. It was unfortunate that we could not use the beautiful lake as our backdrop – the rain was just too heavy and it continued to rain as the day progressed. But we compromised well by using the balconies. The weather is the one thing that is beyond a couples control on their day and Kate and Jamie still achieved one of the best weddings I’ve been part of. A wedding day is all about people, and that was evident in spades.
From there, day became evening, the speeches were given and the guests had so much fun. It was a great day.
